TC WORKING GROUP
Testing and Conformance
This group has been involved in the development of tests to verify that devices actually conform to their claimed BACnet capabilities (as indicated in the device's "Protocol Implementation Conformance Statement" (PICS)).
The working group has finalized the public review draft of the proposed T&C companion standard. The document, known as "ASHRAE 135.1P, Method of Testing Conformance to BACnet," has now been approved for public review. The 415 page draft standard defines in precise detail the steps to test whether an implementation of BACnet faithfully conforms to the BACnet standard and correctly provides the features claimed by the supplier. To achieve this, the proposed standard contains tests for each BACnet service (message type), object (function), and networking technology. It is expected that 135.1P, once finalized, will form the basis for BACnet testing, certification, and product listing programs.
