This slide shows a large office building complex in Berlin with over 190,000 m2 of usable space. There are a variety of building subsystems such as fire alarm and security, HVAC, and elevator controls. EIB is used for control of lighting and window blinds as well as motorized windows that provide exhaust and free cooling. All of these systems have their own dedicated workstations and are, in addition, tied into the supervisory management level workstations through BACnet gateways. From these it is possible to observe and control subsystem operation. Alarms can also be handled in a common way and there is an interface to the facility management system. An Ethernet LAN is used at the management level.
